14 February 2017, Al Hudaydah, Yemen - A livestock owner tends her herd of goats. Livestock production fell by more than 35 percent in 2016 compared to the pre-crisis period as small-scale farmers struggle to access animal feed and control disease. With EU funding under the Enhanced Rural Resilience in Yemen (ERRY) project, FAO is supporting backyard sheep and goat fattening by providing feed concentrate, troughs, treatment for parasites and vaccinations.
FAO project OSRO/YEM/504/EC: Enhanced Rural Resilience in Yemen. It is funded by the EC and its overall objective is to enhance the resilience and self-reliance of crisis-affected rural communities through support to livelihoods stabilization and recovery, local governance and improved access to sustainable energy.
