24 April, 2017, Lurambi, Kakamega County, western Kenya - Joyce Makaka throws feed into one of her fish ponds during a feeding session on her Jafi Enterprises fish farm. Joyce's Jafi Enterprises fish project is a beneficiary of FAO's Africa Solidarity Trust Fund (ASTF), an innovative fund to improve agriculture and food security across the continent, breeding exotic and indigenous species of Tilapia and Catfish alongside ornamental species that include Goldfish and Cod for sale in the Kenyan market.
