24 October 2018, Guayaquil, Ecuador - Coastal Fisheries Initiative (CFI) global inception Meeting. Authorities of Ecuador, Peru, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Cape Verde and Senegal has met to launch the Global Coastal Fisheries Initiative Program (CFI) the promotes fisheries management processes with sustainable approach. The First Meeting has been held in the City of Guayaquil and had as host the Latin American CIF Project, Executed by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) with the support of WWF, CI and FAO. During the event, more than 40 members of the six countries and partners of the CIF, shared their experiences, researches and developped possible applications fo a sustainable fishery.
