31 May 2019, Dehkonobod village, Hissor, Tajikistan - Rashid Buzurov, matching grant beneficiary, picking flowers at his home. Rashid Buzurov is a deported migrant. He is the only man in the family, the breadwinner for his 6 children. He took part in 2 phase trainings, which were organized under the "Promoting inclusive economic growth through matching grants" pilot. When he was deported from Russia, he found out that the only possibility is the land - and he really enjoys it. He grows different vegetables, and trades with apricot. From the grant, Rashid wants to start his business and transfer it to his wife.
The project "Developing Capacity for Strengthening Food Security and Nutrition in Selected Countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia" funded by the Russian Federation, aims to operationalize the linkages between social protection, food security, nutrition and agriculture for a comprehensive approach to contribute to the sustainable eradication of poverty and food insecurity.
