A classroom of kindergarten and primary school children. School meals, using WFP food inputs, motivate parents to send children to school regularly. - - Pre-School and Primary School Feeding. The project is assisting the government in furthering its nutrition education programme. Assistance from the UN/FAO Wor1d Food Programme (WFP) has been given to this project since 1965. School mea1s are prepared from WFP commodities by the children's parents according to a roster established by their own committee. Some of the children are handicapped. The commodities include maize meal and edible oil which are used in the feeding of students at approximately 1,000 primary schools throughout the country.
