A young worker holding a prize carp that has been raised in a fish hatchery at Manado established to help small-scale fisherfolk of the outer islands of Indonesia increase their incomes. The project, assisted y the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), is helping to develop carp and prawn farming, design and build motorized fishing craft, modernize fishing gear, improve fish processing and marketing and to improve rural fishing village life.
