El Salvador, 1955 - This photograph shows Mr. Onn van Teutem (left), FAO expert, and Mr. Antonio Berrios Mendoza of the Economic Commission for Latin America, inspecting coffee beans. The Food and agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the Economic Commission for Latin America are carrying out a joint, long-term study of production trends and production costs in the Latin-American coffee-producing countries. The investigation, started in El Salvador, is now (December 1956) continuing in Colombia and may be continued in further major coffee-producing countries.
