June 2015, An Numan Marrat village, Idleb-Al Ma'ra distric, Syria - A farmer harvests wheat in An Numan Marrat village in the Governorate of Idleb, after receiving 200 kgs of seeds as part of an FAO project, made possible by the support of the Government of Italy, and designed to increase the availability of and access to food for vulnerable households living in crisis-affected areas, whilst restoring cereal production capacity. A total of 633 mt of cereal seeds were distributed to 3 165 households. This project was implemented in conjunction with other projects, funded by the United Kingdom and the USA, as part of a campaign to restore cereal production in Syria. In total, FAO was able to assist 24 140 households (equivalent to 144 840 people) with 4 824 mt of cereal seeds through the multi-donor campaign. .
