ROME, 13 JULY 1979 - The World Conference on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (WCARRD) entered into its second day at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) here today. The purpose of the Conference, convened by FAO and planned in cooperation with other organs of the United Nations system, is to involve governments in an intensive effort to improve conditions and quality of life for rural peoples. The Conference closes on Friday, 20 July.
