Tanzania, 1966. Africans from ten countries are studying at the
College of African Wildlife Management, situated on the slopes
of Mt. Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania. This college is the first of its
kind in Africa, where men are being trained in wildlife conservation,
to become park wardens and game scouts. The UN Special
Fund, private foundations, and governments, both African and
others, are working together to support this important
institution financially. Four of the instructors are experts
