TeleFood Improved Small-Scale Fisheries Project. Members of DEKAWOWO (union of people) displaying bicycles, nets, fridge boxes, wheelbarrows and other implements, provided by FAO at the founding of their organization on 25 June 1999. The bicycles and fridge boxes will be used to transport fish from the ponds to village markets in the area. - - Improved Small-Scale Fisheries Project: TFD-97/TOG/003. The aim of the project is to allow farmers who live close to the water to become part-time fishers. The creation of fishing activities will help the fight against chronic protein deficiency of the local population. The project will increase food self-sufficiency and improve in fish distribution.
