This TeleFood project, launched in 1998, aims to assist fisher folk from the Badenya Cooperative in Bamako to increase their revenue and to reduce fish losses after capture. Fish smoking in new Chorkhor ovens is a simple and inexpensive way of improving the quality of the product and the smoked fish, which is much prized in the area, is sold in markets around Bamako.
