This is a programme in which the UN/FAO cooperates with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) through the Freedom from Hunger Campaign/Action for Development Programme (FFHC/AD). FFHC/AD's support to NGOs in Ghana concentrates on small informal rural associations. The programme for assistance was launched with six village associations in the areas of cassava processing, fish smoking and vegetable production. Women are the major beneficiaries of the programme with three of the associations being women's groups and the other three having approximately 45% women members.
