05 July 2011, Katutu - FAO Purchase for Progress (P4P) Program Officer Robert Tshimanga (center) recording the number of sacks of corn that have come through a WFP storage facility in the village of Katutu. Through the Purchase for Progress (P4P) Project FAO supplies farmers with tools, seeds, and technical training to help them increase their production. WFP then purchases some of the corn and brings it to a storage facility, where it is sorted to ensure quality, and rebagged. The corn is then either sold on the market, or used for WFP programs such as school feeding or food aid.
