In the Dikky region of Morocco the ArtFiMed project (Long term development of Mediterranean artisanal fishing in Morocco and Tunisia) is working to improve the socio-economic situation and livelihoods of targeted communities by supporting artisanal fishing while also diversifying income generating activities by introducing apiculture. By diversifying activities, it promotes sustainability while simultaneously making the community less dependent upon fishing alone, for income.
