14 March 2022, Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte, Philippines - A rain storm passes over a fish pen as Jelo M. Apali, 16, guides a motor 'banca' boat to the ladder of the pen which his father Andy Apali manages. The pen holds about 20.000 bangus (milkfish) which takes about four months to grow from fingerlings to a marketable size. Fish pen is the term mostly used locally for a facility that is stationary with bamboo stakes hammered into the sea bed. Fish cages are most often free floating in deeper water.
