18 May 2010, Dakar, Senegal - A lab technician inserting a strip of plastic membrane, used for absorption of chemicals from water, into a jar to be taken to the field for deployment. After the membrane has soaked up water for a week (sometimes two), it is analyzed to determine concentrations of various insecticides present in the water.
