18 May 2010, Dakar, Senegal - Chemist Marie Ndao operating a machine to distillate a solution containing pesticides removed from water via a plastic collection membrane. After the membrane has soaked up water for a week (sometimes two), it is analyzed to determine concentrations of various insecticides present in the water.
