18 May 2010, Dakar, Senegal - Chemist Marie Ndao preparing a strip of plastic membrane used for absorption of chemicals in water at the Ceres Locustox Laboratory. After the membrane has soaked up water for a week (sometimes two), it is analyzed to determine concentrations of various insecticides present in the water.
