19 March 2015, Salinas de Garci Mendoza, Bolivia - Desert fields. One of the environmental consequences of Quinoa plantation development is desertification. Deprived of their native vegetation and of the fertilization effects given by llamas farms, fields succumb to desertification. This is part of Project FOOD4, a project in collaboration with the European Journalism Center (EJC), the Italian Foreign ministry, the International Cooperation and FAO, aimed to explain food security issues through articles, maps and photoreportages.
