27 May 2015, Sangalkam, Senegal - A fruit seller sitting at her fruit and vegetables stall in the village of Sangalkam. The Senegalese Department of Vegetable Protection (DPV) is promoting pilot projects to develop means to eradicate the pest, apparently imported into Africa at the beginning of the past decade where a shipment containing samples of the fly arrived in the Kenyan port of Mombasa.
