28 May 2013, Siaya District, Kenya - Adonijah Ouma stands in his irrigated maize garden. This new way of planting allows farmers to save excess rain water that would otherwise wash away top soil and flood the entire area. Ouma has a four acre farm and said he has noticed considerable difference in his output since practicing the use of cover crop and water retaining.
