30 May 2013, Mchinji, Malawi- 73 year-old Delia Demison, a Beneficiary of Social Cash Transfer is cooking porridge for her school going double orphaned grand children. FAO Project: Social Cash Transfer- The Social Cash Transfer's objective is to reduce poverty and hunger in beneficiary households; and to increase school enrolment and attendance. The project targets households which are ultra poor and labour constraint; and are headed by the elderly, chronically ill persons or child-headed and must be looking after five or more dependents.
