Daily life view of a village as seen along the road to the Tonle Sap lake, where people live in temporary houses that are moved about ten times every year to keep pace with expanding and receding water levels. Due to pollution, waste and a general lack of infrastructure, these kinds of settlements are environmental hazards. - - Participatory Natural resource Management in the Tonle Sap Region: GCP/CMB/008/BEL. The project has worked in Siem Reap since 1995 on assisting the Government of Cambodia, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery and Ministry of Environment in the process of handing management responsibility for forestry and fishery resources to local communities through organisation, training and in other ways facilitating the process with authorities and other stake holders.
