Emergency Supply of Agricultural Inputs to Flood-affected Farm Households - TCP/LAO/0166E: This Technical Cooperation Programme aims to assist the Government of Laos to restore rice and vegetable production in the central and southern provinces of the country damaged by flooding in 2000. The Savannakhet Province was one of the worst hit areas and is located approximately 400km from the capital of Vientiane. The project objectives are to provide seed inputs, fertilizer and tools to the flood-affected areas and is designed to directly benefit 8 000 families. Technical assistance is also supplied to beneficiaries who are the poorest farmers and those most affected by the floods.
