Ethiopia, March 1953 - This photograph shows two Ethiopian vaccinators preparing the anti-rinderpest vaccine for use in the field. They work in the shade, supervised by Dr. Sitnikoff, Field veterinarian of the Ministry of Agriculture. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has sent a mission to Ethiopia to help modernize the country's agriculture and forestry. Working there are experts in crop production, animal production, animal diseases' control, rural welfare, forest development and nutrition. This mission includes a team of FAO veterinarians.
