Extension trainers teach crop planting techniques such as plant spacing and other methods for improving crop production and nutrition to Burundian refugees in a camp in Western Tanzania. - - Emergency Supply of Vegetable Seeds and Hand Tools to Refugees in Kigoma Region. The Special Relief Operations Service (TCOR) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) responds to requests for emergency assistance submitted by developing countries affected by exceptional natural or human-induced calamities. TCORàó emergency assistance covers a wide number of activities related to the urgent rehabilitation of the disaster-stricken areas. Post-emergency measures are offered to implement relief and short rehabilitation programmes, such as the provision of agricultural inputs (seeds, fertilizer, pesticides) and agricultural equipment (small tools, irrigation equipment) to speed the return back to agricultural development.
