FAO project coordinator explaining the construction and advantages of the "Semillero" (potato seeder) and "Troje" (maize cob container) to college students. Both constructions are designed to hold 20 quintals. - - Post-Harvest Grains/Potatoes: GCP/ECU/065. Puruha Agricultural Technical College - Field workers attached to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) have been visiting the Puruha Technical College for approximately one year. Students start the training course at 12 years of age and continue for a period of six years. All students are from farmer families. Students receive one hour per week of formal academic instruction by a project representative on agricultural subjects and marketing of produce as well as technical assistance and advice in their practical work. The FAO project representatives also have similar arrangements with universities in Riobamba and Cuenca. (19266-19280).
