Farmer uses a boat to get to and from an FAO project situated on Nargana Island which is inhabited by a community of Kuna Indians. - - Horticulture Associated with School Gardens: TCP/PAN/0051. This project is executed by the Technical Cooperation Programme of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in areas with highest level of nutritional deficiencies in children. The districts are Veraguas, Chiriqui and Boca del Toro, including San Blas Island. The aims of the project are to teach local communities how to cultivate and prepare various species of fruit and vegetables, some of which are unknown to them.
