FAO has assisted the Bangladesh International Rice Research Institute in the dissemination of new techniques directed at farmers in order to help them increase production. The future well-being of Bangladesh's 85 million population depends on intensive crop production, improved nutrition and reduced population growth. Education in these vital matters may bring about an equitable balance between the number of people and the country's resources.
