Female waterbuck and lambs on the Chobe Game Reserve. - - Wildlife Management.. Botswana is richly endowed with wildlife, but this resource has been threatened by increasing competition from livestock, particularly cattle. Several wildlife officers provided by UN/ Food and Agriculture Organization, as experts, and the German Federal Republic as associate experts, are improving the management of wildlife resource. The benefits include a considerable increase in the value of wildlife products (hides and skins are better tanned), and in external exchange from tourism. National parks and game reserves have been developed, and the latest figure on revue from the wildlife resource (1968) was approximately $3 million.
