Fishing Technology, Senegal, 1969. The Oceanographic and Marine Fisheries Technical School at Thiaroye, near Dakar, was recently established by the Government. Its main purpose is to improve Senegal's fisheries by educating trainees in fisheries administration, modern fishing techniques and processing methods. The two-year and four-year courses are attended by other African trainees as well. Technical assistance for the school is provided by UN/FAO for a four-year period, commencing July 1969, with a budget of US$ 107.000.
