January 2016, Nyal, South Sudan - Young boys take their daily catch home for their mothers to prepare for dinner. Fish is the main source of the food for these communities since markets have stopped functioning, no stock from previous harvests and humanitarian aid not sufficient to cover the needs. Households prepare other wild foods to complement the fish until the next food assistance reaches them. As a result, malnutrition rates are very high in this area.
