This project encompasses forest management, timber harvesting and education and community development. It is a project funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations operating through the Honduran Corporation of Forest Development, an agency of the Government of Honduras. It works with forest communities to teach correct harvesting methods to ensure a continued timber supply and to guard against soil erosion. It helps with timber harvesting by supplying equipment such as chain-saws and timber transportation. It assists with community development and education and helps develop small community businesses.
