This project financed by the Government of Belgium and executed by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), is based in Dalaba, Fouta Djallon. Its objectives are the following: to identify and select vegetable and fruit varieties suited to conditions in the Fouta Djallon; to develop potato conservation and production methods; to produce vegetable seeds; to collect fruit-bearing plants; to train farmers in fruit-tree growing; to provide a nutritional education programme; to collaborate with other countries involved in the regional project.
