SAND DUNE FIXATION, Senegal, 1985 - Eucalyptus plantation. These evergreen trees have many uses ranging from sand dune fixation to the provision of fodder and building poles. The aim of this FAO project is to assist the government in carrying out sand dune fixation measures through afforestation, to promote rural development through fuelwood and fodder plantation for local community development activities and to reclaim land for agriculture in the Sol-Dior area.
