Several large reservoirs have been dug in the project area to be used to store water for irrigation. The surface area of the reservoir is about 50m2 and 5 metres deep. Water is supplied to the reservoir through an open irrigation canal from the 17th July Irrigation Project across the Masab Alaam outfall. The original source of water is the Garaf irrigation canal. The water is pumped from the reservoir into a concrete distribution basin whose gates open onto distribution ditches.
