Basic information for land development and improvement in Korea is being provided by this United Nations Development Programme-Special Fund/Food and Agriculture Organization (UNDP-SF/FAO) project. Through an appraisal of the nation's soil resources, the overall economic development of the country and programme for settlement, irrigation, drainage, soil reclamation, soil conservation and afforestation will be planned. The project is also assisting in applying the results of soil studies from other UNDP projects and is training Korean personnel in this field. Its scheduled duration is 5 years, it is being financed by $807,000 from the UNDP-SF and $793,000 from the Korean Government.
