The project is financed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) at the request of the Government of Lebanon, which helps to execute it. The aims of the project are to help to improve quality and innocuousness of supplies and foodstuffs in the country by the following means: creating a more effective food control system through better organization and by planning food quality checks; training of trainers in modern inspection techniques and food quality control methods; training personnel in the food industry.
FAO is responsible for planning activities, training, personnel, buying educational materials and teaching aids, controlling foodstuffs, and for providing administrative and technical support.
