Through the project rural women are taught how to produce food hygienically in their household kitchens. - - Nutrition Surveillance and Improvement Project: TCP/EGY/057. This project is conducting a nutrition survey activity at village level, choosing 50 families per village, in order to follow up the nutritional status of the family members. Interest in mothers and children is stressed, with a view to promoting and improving the use of locally produced and available food commodities and balancing nuritional needs (calories, proteins, carbohydrates, amino acids, etc.). The project provides extension advice on nutrition education, food preparation, sanitation andinformation about nutritive values of various food commodities.
