United Kingdom, 1965 - The Freedom from Hunger Campaign was launched by the Food and Agriuclture Organization of teh United Nations (FAO) in July 1960 to enlarge world consciousness of the extent of hunger and malnutrition in the world, and the possiblities that exist for fighting them. After five years, people throughout the world are joing the fight against hunger in growing numbers. These English students pushed a bedstead 50 miles from Brighton to Croydon, near London, to raise funds for the Campaign. Their cheeful publicity march was only one of many.
