Financed by FAO, this study consists of two phases. The first concerns an extension service and the construction of feeder roads and rural water supply stations. The second, the different technical solutions to intensify agricultural production by improving agricultural practices, increasing water for irrigation and intensifying inputs. Low wages and difficult working conditions discourage people from looking for jobs in agriculture. In the Wadi, women still have a very important role in agriculture and livestock-raising. Despite their contribution, they are not usually paid actual wages.
